PilesOTiles Mahjongg - Additional Tilesets |
|
Piles'O'Tiles Mahjongg allows you to import new tilesets into the game to
keep you playing with a new experience. We are currently undergoing some
changes to the actual game itself, so until they are done, additional
tilesets will not be released by us. Depending on whether you are using the
Desktop version of the game (Mac and/or PC) or PocketPC version, you should
download the correct versions accordingly.

Title: Replacement for traditional PilesOTiles Tileset Author:
Andy Kellett (andy@f1-software.com)
Number of Tiles: 99
Comments:
This tileset was designed as an extended edition of the original.
With many brighter tiles than the original, some of the more
interesting tiles were placed here to cut down on the initial
download size for the game.

How To Install Tilesets On Windows/Mac/Linux Versions of PilesOTiles
- Locate your PilesOTiles installation folder. If you installed the game
at the default location, this would be "C:\Program Files\PilesOTiles". To
get to the location of the tilesets, go inside the "data" folder,
followed by "Tiles".
- Each downloaded tileset file will contain a TLS and a DXP file. Unpack
both of these files into the "Tiles" folder. There should already by
other DXP and TLS files here for other levels. It is important that no
folders be created, otherwise the tileset won't work.
- Restart the game, and go into the tileset selection options and scroll
through the available tiles. If the tileset was installed correctly, it
should now be available for playing.
How To Install Tilesets on PocketPC/Handheld Devices
- PocketPC/PDA machines can install additional tilesets directly through
ActiveSync, or by downloading directly to the device. If you plan on
downloading directly to the device, follow the instructions for Desktop
tilesets. All tileset images for PocketPC versions are stored in the
"Data" folder, again with no additional folders.
- Connect your mobile device. Go to 'My Computer' and browse to the
installation folder on your device. Go into the "Data" folder, where you
should see adiitional DXP/TLS files for the game.
- Copy your DXP and TLS file into the Data folder using Copy/Paste. Be
sure that no additional folders are created in "Data" otherwise the
tileset won't work.
- Start the game, and the tileset should now be available in the tileset
browser.
Troubleshooting/Tips
- Q. When I install a tileset on my PDA, the images are partial and they
appear to be bits of large images. What happened?
- A. This will occur if you try to install a desktop tileset on a
PocketPC device. Reinstall the tileset using a PocketPC download of the
same tileset
- Q. On my desktop game, I get a mixture of blank tiles, and some tiny
tiles in groups. What happened?
- A. This will occur if the PocketPC tileset is installed on the desktop.
Reinstall the tileset with the desktop download.
- Q. Do I have to always download PocketPC tilesets if I play the Desktop
versions?
- A. If you play the Desktop versions, you can automatically create the
data files for PocketPC. See the game documentation for information on
how to do this.
- Q. I installed the tileset per the instructions and it isn't appearing
on the list. What happened?
- A. Check the target location of the two tileset files, make sure they
appear in the correct folder (with no sub-folders) and restart the
game.
- Q. Is it possible to create my own tilesets?
- A. Yes, we have a few older tools available. Each tile is 96x120
pixels, in 24-bit TARGA format. When the new versions of the game become
available, we will also update these tools to make them available to
anyone.
