How Would You Like To Appear In An F1-Software Game?
We are looking for pictures of people to use in two of our upcoming games, Twinz Pro and Piles'O'Tiles Mahjongg. For both games, we want to construct a level using people's faces as the images on the tiles! If you have always wanted to see your face in a video game, here is your chance!
What we are looking for here are unique pictures, not just any pictures of people's mugshots. Some of the levels we have been working on have taken many hours of selecting and searching, so we have a good idea of what we are looking to find. For an example of images we have spent a lot of time looking at to determine their interestingness, try playing PilesOTiles using the default tileset, or even the Extended Graphics Tileset, which has 99 images that we have hand picked from thousands of photographs.
If you have pictures that meet any of the requirements below, then you are on your way to getting started! Multiple pictures welcome. Here is a list of the criteria that you should try to follow:
- Clear, high-resolution, clear images only, images that are already quite blurred/distorted tend not to come out very well when scaled up or down. If the image is any smaller than 120x120 pixels, it may not be accepted. No black & white pictures, please.
- The portrait should contain a very unique pose, that when glanced at, you can immediately see something more than just a smile or a feature. Pictures that capture a funny moment, or something that immediately sticks in your head when you first see it work well. An example of an image I looked at today was a woman with a very large smile; Though it wasn't the smaile that interested me, it was the shape/colour of her eyes at the time. The eyes were also the first noticeable feature of the picture (they were very green). Its a distinguishable feature like this that aids a player in a game of memory such as Twinz or PilesOTiles, because they are very quickly scanning the available tiles and will identify that one by her green eyes.
- All images submitted must be your own, you cannot submit pictures of strangers. Family members welcomed if they have given your permission.
If you think you have a picture that meets these requirements, then please email it to me directly at andy@f1-software.com You should include your name, email address, and a bit of info about the picture (a brief comment such as 'This picture was taken right at the point the ladder fell down' to describe the pose of the picture). Our team of programmers will then review each pictures and see if we can use it.
Thank-you. If you have any questions, please reply to this post and we will be glad to help you. We will post a follow up message here when we have received enough entries to use in the game.
