Gas Mileage Calculator Early Test Version Released![]() Submitted by FishGuy876 on Thu, 08/14/2008 - 13:37.
We have released an early Beta version of our Gas Mileage Calculator tool. To ensure everyone can test this tool, I released both a Windows and PocketPC version (the Windows version will run at a PocketPC resolution). Before I post the links, I should explain a little bit about the program. This is a beta release, so there will probbably be bugs at some point in the program. Also, I have only made active 2 types of report in this version, I am still working on a moduile that will make it easy to add new types of graph easier than it currently is, so for now you will only be able to see reports and graphs for individual vehicles (not for multiple vehicles alongside each other). This will be added in a future beta. The purpose of this release is to get general feedback about the tool, I have used it on my personal vehicles for quite some time, but of course there are going to be people who want to use it differently than I do =) I would like to hear from you, by telling me what you think should be changed, what kind of graphs you would like to see (for example, I added a graph earlier today that shows the cost per gallon of gas over the last 12 months, though it isn't in this beta) and think you could use. If you find any bugs, or have questions or suggestions in general then please make some new posts to this forum. If you do find bugs, please let me know if they are on Windows/PocketPC versions and any info you have on how to reproduce them. If you don't have an account registered on the F1 website, you will need to register for one (it's free!) before you can post. For Windows versions only: The screen displayed is only 240x320 pixels, you can either resize it manually, or press the F8 key to double the window size. F7 restores it to a normal size. On some machines, it will run at a slow performance unless it is doubled with the F8 key. If enough people feel that they want it, I will eventually release a Windows/Mac specific version of this tool. We'll see how interest in it goes. PocketPC Versions: For the time being, only PDA's/phones with a 240x320 screen are supported. Smartphones with a 240x240 square screen are currently not supported, though when we do release the final version, they will be compatible. We are still working out a couple of bugs that stop it working on the smaller screen. On my SmartPhone, even if it opens a 240x240 screen, it tries to stretch the screen orientation to 320x240 so the rendered square still appears squashed. I am working on a fix!
